Getting a library card opens up a world of possibility.

First of all, we are located in Iowa. Not New Hampshire, Connecticut, or United Kingdom. (there has been some confusion in the past)

Step One

Click here to print out a library card application, or come into the library. Please note: library cards for minors must be signed by the minor and the parent/legal guardian.

Step Two

Make sure you bring a photo ID with your current address. If you don’t have an updated ID, bring in a piece of mail (dated within 30 days) with your current address. If you are not an Iowa resident, you can still get a library card for an annual fee. Call us for more information.

If you are not from Iowa, you can still get a library card for a fee of $20.

Other Options

If you have an ID but no proof of current residence, we can issue you a limited use temporary card. Checkout is limited to 1 item per visit. Stop by the library to find out more information.

If you don’t have the identification for a card and live in Manchester or rural Delaware County, you can sign up for a digital (e-books, audiobooks, and more) access-only card. Click here to sign up.
