A description of library programs

Story Times
Story Times for kids are offered by the Children's Department in the fall, winter, and spring months.  Lasting approximately 30-45 minutes, Story Times may include reading books aloud, playing games, doing activities, singing songs, having a snack, and receiving take home projects.  Parents, grandparents, and caregivers are all encouraged to bring children to Story Time.

Children's Summer Reading Program
Every summer the Children's Department offers a Summer Reading Program for children.  There are reading logs for kids to keep track of their reading minutes, prizes to encourage and reward reading, age-specific activities for fun and learning, and special programs to highlight the summer's theme.   A calendar of events is generally available by the first of June.

Teen Summer Reading Program
A Teen Summer Reading Program is also offered by the Library.  Teens are able to keep track of reading minutes, earn prizes, and take part in special activities throughout the summer.  Information on the teen program is usually available in June.

Book Club
The Library Book Club offers a unique opportunity for adults to read a common book and meet once per month for discussion and fellowship.  The Club is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.  For more information, go to the Book Club page.

Assisted Living/Nursing Home Services
The Library offers special services for local retirement and nursing homes.  The Library selects and gathers materials on a regular basis to be borrowed by these institutions for use by their residents.  Specific requests for materials can be made to the Library.

Classroom Visits
Special services are also offered to classes at local schools.  Teachers may call or stop by and arrange times for their classes to visit the Library and borrow materials on a regular basis.
